"Friendly staff and great food!”, Trip Advisor 6 August 2012
We did not have a reservation for this restaurant (I highly recommend one though!) as I was drawn to it due to the advertisement of Mussels on the menu. Having recently enjoyed some amazing Italian Mussels in Monterosso, I wanted to see if Canadian restaurants could compare.
The Mussels & Clams appetizer was very good (not Italy quality, but a very close comparison)! The mussels were tender, in a subtle tomato spice sauce.
My linguine e gambero was great, with large, tender shrimp. My boyfriend tried the gnocchi with sausage and pork bolognese, which he was very fond of.
The food was superb, the restaurant ambiance intimate and light, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We definitely appreciated them fitting us in without that reservation!
“The BEST restaurant in Jasper!”, Trip Advisor 19 July 2012
We searched high and low for a nice restaurant in Jasper and after reviewing the menus outside the restaurants, coupled with the positive reviews on Trip Advisor, we visited Cassio's last night. It was so good that we are going back tonight. A little pricey but that was our choice with wine, appetizer and dessert. But then again even a hamburger in Canada is pricey no matter where you go. At least here, the portions are worth it. I usually don't order ravioli because you never get enough but at Cassio's I had a problem trying to finish the amount I was served. And, the butternut squash ravioli were fabulous. Our waitress, Tricia, was the best! TOTALLY enjoyed it!
Did the job very well
17 Oct 2009
We found an amazing Italian restaurant , called Cassios, in the town centre, opposite the Jasper Train Station, that did breakfasts, cheaper, bigger and a million times better than our hotel. Also had dinner at this Italian, we loved it so much, and again food was amazing and very good prices!!
Great Meal at Cassios
Oct 19, 2009
My husband and I ate at Cassios on October 17. We've eaten at many Jasper restaurants, and have been disappointed frequently. This town specializes in bad restaurants banking on diners being tourists from far away that won't be back, and won't spread the word on how bad their food is.
Wanting to try something different, we asked the front desk clerk at our hotel which restaurants she liked. She mentioned Cassios right away, saying she had been there a couple of weeks previously and had a very good meal.
When we arrived, they had a special - $33 for 3 courses - one appetizer, one entree and one dessert. Sounded like a great deal, but only if the food was good.
The focaccia bread was fresh and went well with the oil/vinegar for dipping.
We both had the same appetizer - Garlic shrimp with linguini. It was delicious.
I had the veal parmesan with penne, and my husband had veal marsala. Both were very good.
The waitress graciously allowed us to substitute a special coffee for dessert as we were quite full.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Best Wedding Dinner Ever
Jun 15, 2009
We had visited Cassio's a year ago and had a wonderful experience. The menu looked fabulous from the street and did not disappoint when we ordered. The staff from the start was extremely helpful and professional in their service. I had an allergy amendment to the salmon dish I ordered and it was taken care of without any hassle alongside with a bit of a lesson about the base of the meal that accompanied. There was lots of space in the restaurant with fair decor and appropriate ambiance for an Italian restaurant.
Our food was cooked wonderfully and the service we received was spot on! My husband and I decided to get married in Jasper this year, so it was without doubt that we would return to Cassio's for our wedding meal. I remembered that there was an upper area set away from the main restaurant that was suitable for our small event.
The owners and staff took care of everything with the greatest of care. Correspondence was prompt, friendly, and accommodating. On the day the owner and the server with our party were professional and welcoming. Everything went very smoothly.
The menu that was agreed upon between the chef and myself was perhaps the best wedding dinner I have ever experienced. There was an abundance of excellently cooked food for a very reasonable price. The wild mushroom soup, crab cakes, butternut squash ravioli, steak with green peppercorn sauce, salmon with lemon and capers, and chicken supreme were all fabulous along with the sides that accompanied. It was very difficult to leave room for the tower of tiramisu (good thing it was as light as an angel's cloud!) and chocolate cheesecake.
Both times we visited were excellent and we recommend this restaurant to anyone who wishes to get away the mediocre to enjoy some top notch food and wine while rounding up their evening.
